THIRD SISTER BIO Third Sister is a band audiences instantly
connect with. Fronted by three talented female vocalists
(Beth Iovinelli, Carol Piro, Betsy Benham) the band hails from
Southwestern CT. Tight harmonies and smooth moves converge
with the bands revved up blues, rock and funk jams to create
an individualistic sound which is a
refreshing change compared to today's cookie cutter bands.
The three women have been harmonizing since their high school days when they met in a vocal
ensemble and expertly handle everything from intricate a capella
harmonies to hard rocking leads. Their seamless
trade-off on lead and back up parts makes for a diverse and interesting
experience for the listener. Third Sister is backed by an
incredible group of experienced, funky and creative
musicians who include; Dave Salvati (Bass), Steve Fruda
(drums), Warren McGuire (guitar) and newest addition, Norwalk home boy Jim Erotopolous on guitar! Third Sister has won the Fairfield Weekly
Grand Band Slam Competition in 2004 and Westport
Magazine's Best of the Gold Coast in 2005. They have opened for Bo Bice, Rick Derringer, GE Smith, Renee
Austin, and have performed with Murali Coryell at BB
Kings in NYC. Rich Franzino of the Acoustic Cafe, says: "Don't
be fooled that this band can't kick up a storm
because it's fronted by three life long girlfriends. Their
captivating styling covers a wide array of music genres, not only rocking the house with hard hitting guitars, bass and drums, but also has moments of softer and introspective tones. Lyric content, a hard hitting band, and good
looks...this band has it all." Their original band, Frank's Sister, gained
national recognition in 2001 when the song "Why
Not Now" (composed by Andrew Lane) from their self-produced CD was chosen for the Million Mom March
compilation CD. This compilation featured Melissa
Etheridge and Emmy Lou Harris. Currently Third Sister is writing and
recording new material for a CD due in
2007 while also performing shows throughout the Connecticut and New York area.
